I am trying to do more than just give my reviews on Jazz games or tv shows, although I will still do that, I want to live up to the blogs name more than I do. So, here is my week in review.
Last Sunday we had a Superbowl party over at Agbor's house. It was really just our family and Agbor's with Deanna's dad and brother. The food was great. Anyone that knows me knows that food is one of my favorite things, if not my favorite thing. We had enchiladas, chips and salsa, among other tasty treats. The superbowl was great for one quarter, good for another, and a bust for the second half. Even the commercials were weak. My score of 30-16 was nearly right on, subtract a point from Indy and give it to the Bears and you would have it (29-17). The Bears offense was horrendous, Grossman wasn't good, but really their gameplan was not good.
Monday I had tickets to see the Jazz and Bulls. They were in THE suite, so yea it was a great time. Nathan Wright came with as well as Kelsey and Megan Franklin. This was Kelsey's first time and she had a blast. Nathan is from Chicago and was still recovering from the superbowl, but luckily he has lived here long enough to be a Jazz fan. Memo Okur continued nailing shots in the clutch. Honestly, he has to be one of the best I have ever seen, with Reggie Miller, Stockton, and Jordan. Really he is that good. The Jazz won with Okur's clutch shooting hitting 12 of the last 14. The guy is money and he loves to shoot it at the end.
Wednesday was our first game. We played Jefferson at their place. In Matheson's short history we have never beat Jefferson. Our guys responded well from last weeks thrashing by Bonneville and we beat them easily. David Greninger, our best player, hit a 3 pointer, well more like a half court shot, as the first quarter ended to give us a 18-6 lead. We never looked back. THe 2nd quarter was foul filled and we gave up field goal and nine free throws and they cut the lead, but the 3rd and 4th quarters we dominated, especially the fourth when they scored 5 points. We won 49-32, but it could have been worse. David played great, he scored 17, made some great steals and passes, he is easily the best player ever from the school. The JV did even better and won 41-18 Malcolm McFall had about 20 and Ronnie "Money" Montoya had 12. It was nice to win I was excited all night. I don't know if we have ever thrashed both teams like we did. Unfortunately Jefferson was bad, real bad, so I have no idea what this really means.
Thursday was Natalie's birthday and was covered in the other post below.
Friday, I took off work and had Cami Gonzalez babysit Natalie and Porter while Janalynn and I went out. We didn't do anything extravagant, it's the thought that counts, we did eat at the Cracker Barrel on Paul Matthews recommendation, and he was right the french toast, I had blackberries, was sensational. Really it was that good.
Saturday I went Geocaching with Jared Covili, his dad, and nephew and finally hit the plateau of 100, actually 106. Went to the UTAG Chili cook off, it was tasty, reminded me of a ward party lots of good food, the chili was good, not great, but I have been paying for it ever since.
Natalie had her princess party which didn't really go as planned as the fabric paint didn't dry and 7-8 little girls squeezing it out on their purses turned into a huge mess. Janalynn called it a disaster, I just think it didn't live up to her standard, it was a mess though.
It was a fun week that just flew by. Hard to believe we are almost halfway through Feb.

At least the chili lived up to it's purpose. Remember, a good chili is utilitarian in nature. "It was good wasn't it!"
