The IMAX theater in Jordan Commons showed U2 in 3D as done by National Geographic. This show was utterly spectacular. Not just because it was U2, the images were incredible. I would wager that even a casual fan or even a non-fan would have been wowed by the display. I have to admit that I was a little worried about the 3D stuff, but it was neat and was like watching it in high def.
Highlights included: Any shot of the crowds(it was filmed in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico)the bouncy crowds, jumping up and down in sold out soccer stadiums were truly a sight to behold.
Coexist-The idea of putting the Islamic,Christian, and Jewish signs together and spelling coexist is a transcendent idea. How can you not like the messages of U2? They make it seem as is world peace is possible, and perhaps it is with Bono sporting his headband.
3D was truly a visual masterpiece, they superimposed much of it and it was dazzling. Letters and words fell with vibrant colors creating an impressive montage of colorful words and phrases. It was too cool to really explain.
The Edge used about 10 guitars in 15 songs, that alone is impressive. Plus he might be the coolest rocker of his age. Bono is cool, but the silence of the Edge adds to his mystique.
There may not be a better way to see a concert.
I'm glad U2 is back to politics it is what they do best. If you get a chance you should run out and see this show, it won't be the same on video.
