First of all I need to explain that I have a new calling. I was released from the 9 year old primary class and put in the young mens. I am now the Priest Asst. and the Venture leader. When we moved up from Westpoint Ward I felt that I had not quite fulfilled my time in young men, so this will be nice.
My first mutual activity was at our ward farm. The kids planted and weeded the crops throughout the summer and now they are ready for picking. A photographer/writer from the church news came out took photos and got quotes for the story. Who'd a thunk a solo shot of Kailey would make the cover? The last time anyone I knew made the cover was my uncle Bill Lawler and his family, that came out while I was on my mission, about 13-14 yrs ago.

I have to admit this is pretty dang cool. The Church News goes worldwide, not just locally or nationally, but globally. We actually knew yesterday when Ryan Jenkins, the stake young mens president, and member of our ward saw it at the church office building and let his wife know, who called us. I had no idea it was the spread that it was. Kailey didn't even tell anyone yesterday after she found out. Cool stuff.
