For the past years we have had an Easter egg hunt with the Petersons at either their home or the stake park. Because of the move this has changed. We were going to do one of our own with all the neighbor kids, but with Janalynn down and out that would mean I would be doing all of it, so yeah it didn't happen. All the girls went to West Valley to the Hilse's or Grandmas, Janalynn is laid up, so it was me and Porter. We found out about an egg hunt at the IHC. I guess everyone else in Layton knew about it as well. When we pulled up I knew we were in trouble. There were cars everywhere and people everywhere. Nothing like free stuff to get everyone out. They had different age groups separated and of course Porter was in the largest group the 3-5. When I saw the throng, the space, and the amount of eggs, it looked like 2:1 egg to kid ratio. Take a look at the crowd, that is the side across from us, on our side there was more people.

All of a sudden this air horn blew and they were off. As you can see I positioned Porter all by himself at the far end. If I hadn't he would have only got one or two eggs.

For about 30 seconds it was like this and then I turned and there was the swarm., it was like any film that shows a plague, like locusts or ants or something, it was stunning. I just stared at the coming throng in awe. The hunt or race lasted about 45 secs. Then it was over.

On our way back to the van, this older guy who looked like he was with his grandson, saw how many eggs Porter had(about 12) and said he must be aggressive or got some help. I imagine he thought I helped him pick the eggs up. Ah no, even as competitive as I am that would be way over the top. I did put him at the far end all by himself, so yeah he got that kind of help. Oh well it was fun, no candy(nice) and Porter said this is his Best Day Ever.
