Surgery

The long awaited day of the gastro surgery arrived. From all early accounts it seems to have gone well. There were no complications, just Janalynn complaining about itching, an apparent morphine problem. The doctor was brief in his counsel with me just saying it went well and that hopefully she will go home tomorrow night. As is usually the case she was loopy coming out, although not as bad as in the past. Her first words to me were, "I didn't die." No siree. I believe reality set in when she asked for a drink with her parched throat and was told she couldn't have one. She was given this green sponge thingey, that looked like something Porter and Natalie would love to play with. I guess that was dinner. She will be on liquids for about a week and then the fun of eating 1/4 cup of food per meal begins. I imagine she will be in shape in no time, how could you not be with that size portion? We have spent way too much time in hospitals so I hope this is it for a long time.

I wanted to put in a plug for the best new show of the year, no its not Heroes, its Robin Hood on BBC America. We watch this show every week as a family. Robin is played by the dashing Jonas Armstrong. The girls, including Natalie, are all in love with him. The story is well done, the script is surprisingly as good as any show I have seen, the action is good, characters well crafted. There is no vulgarity or any sex. It is a clean good show that I would recommend to anyone. I must add that the show is a well paced, dramatic, quality show. It has all the elements; action, romance, suspense, drama, comedy and somehow manages to balance it all quite well. Eight episodes have passed, they are all good. The Marian/Robin romance is tense and comical, but nothing is a for sure thing. I would say I prefer watching this show above all others except the Office.
