My uncle Chuck uses the phrase 'barking spider' when someone has gas. I always thought that was clever and at times when I have been guilty of tooting in front of the kids I will blame it on the barking spider. Porter has never quite got this concept of blaming it on the spider without admitting what you have done. He will toot and then say it was a farting spider, instead of barking spider.
Yesterday we picked up Kelsey and friend from the movies. Porter sat in the back with Kelsey's friend and after running out of material talked about when he farts he blames it on the mysterious barking spider. He then told her that he got that from me and that we both do this quite often. Both Kelsey and I were a tad embarrassed at that. Funny how at six those are proud moments.
