I have to say that I have been cheering for the Saints all year since my Rams are pathetic. I needed a team that I could cheer for, so I picked the Saints a few games in, since it was easy to tell the Rams stunk. I have always really liked Brees and I am glad he showed up the Chargers for letting him and sticking with Rivers. I never thought they should have let Brees go then and I am sure the Charger players realize what they missed out on.
There are some comparisons to the Rams greatest show on turf team, but lets face it the Saints don't have the rb like Faulk, or receivers quite as good as Bruce, Holt, Hakim, and Proehl. Defensively they are similar but I would still get a slight edge to the Rams. The Saints don't have the pass rush that Kevin Carter and Grant Wistrom provided. But still they are pretty similar.
Had bratwurst and kraut, chili, chips and salsa, drinks, veggies, treats, pumpkin cheesecake and good friends over for the game. Can't beat that.
Here are my thoughts on the game:
Nothing quite like the Jim Caldwell face. He looked slightly concerned all game.
Thought the goal line stop was going to do more for the Colts, yea they stopped a td, but they never really capitalized on it.
10-6 at halftime was a bit surprising
Loved the onside kick at halftime. To me that was the game changer

Keeping Manning off the field was a big key to the game.
Brees played it safe, only going deep just a few times, carving out eight to twelve yards a pass.
The two point conversion was a big play. I wanted the ref to say after reviewing "okay we know all of you just saw this twenty times and all of you know its good so what do we really need to say." Great play by Moore
Pick six sealed the game

Couldn't believe the colts ran it at the goal line, guess they were out of tricks
Still hard to believe the Colts were held to 17 pts. Was surprised Manning didn't have it.

Was happy for the city of New Orleans. Guess Mardi Gras will start nine days early this year.
Geaux Saints
