Hard to believe the new and improved Jazz version 2006/7 could go into PHX and beat the high powered Suns. It was an exciting game full of streaky play, but in the end the tougher team won. Here are my thoughts; The first team played great in the first period, good D, great shot selection, and had a good pace against the breakneck speed of the Suns. The one thing you cannot do against the Suns is run with them, cause no matter what, they do it better. That seemed to be the problem with the 2nd quarter. The Suns pushed the tempo and Brewer and Millsap looked like they had never played ball before. 12 TO's in a quarter and the Jazz gave back the lead. Sloan pulled everyone out and went with Fish, Harpring, and Giricek. Gordan nailed a few threes, Fish and Harpring added their toughness, made a few and then boom the Jazz were back in it. In the end the Suns took a lead but Harpring made a 3 point play, and Boozer outmuscled Thomas and dunked it home. The suns could have tied, but Barbosa blew a layup and that was all she wrote.
Fisher played great worth every penny. Any one who criticized the trade is an idiot.
Giricek is a good shooter, but can't play a whole game, I like him in for about 15 min.
The young guys played like younstas.
2-0. Its a long season but they look like they are progressing in the right direction.
As I have said many times, nothing is better than having your team come from behind and win right at the buzzer. (That is if you are still watching the game)
