Okay there is a lot to cover, but I don't really plan on going into too much detail I just want to throw out my observations with some quick hitters.
A nuclear bomb! Wow! I don't really even know what to say about this other than, didn't see that one coming.
I don't mean to get political here, those of you that know me, should know that while I have a good understanding of politics, it is not my favorite subject. I have never wanted George Bush as president, I always thought the Republicans jumped the gun and should have gone with McCain. So where am I going with this? My point is this at least our current president stands up to the terrorists, Pres. Palmer looks like a big wuss, bullied around by threats. He's no David. So far the US looks weak. Why is Jack the only one with a brain or guts?
Curtis going the way he did was kinda lame. You would think he would have done this covertly. If you want to write a guy out of the script you can do it without making it look so obvious.
Since when has following whatever a terrorist said done anyone any good. Real life or the show it never works. They use you and then kill you. At least the mom had the brains to call the 5-0, the dad should have had more sense, preserving your family is one thing, aiding terrorists is another. In a real life situation, I would be scared, but I would also keep my wits. Why would they keep me or my family alive? They wouldn't, the only reason the boy was freed was cause the mom called it in. If not he would be dead. So far one big fact about terrorists has been blared out, even if you do what they say they will screw you, so don't do what they say, cause they'll screw you anyhow.
Quickhitters
- Was that really Jeremy Miller doing an ad for McDonalds? How long has it been since he's been on the air, 15 years? That's the best McDonalds could do? How many kids are going who is that? Even people who know who he is are wondering who it is. Must be a budget cut.
- Did that British guy really say Chloe was hot? (Still in shock.) Has Chloe dated everyone she has ever worked with only to wish it was Jack?
- I knew Curtis was going to do something stupid. I just didn't think it would be that stupid.
- Has Wayne Palmer made one good decision yet?
- After all these years you would think everyone would listen to everything Jack says and ask for his advice. What more does the guy have to do?
- I have a feeling the British guy, Chloe's guy, is gonna cause a major problem.
- What is the over/under on the number of nukes that get detonated, 1 more, 2 more, all?
- Didn't the only guy that knew how to wire them just blow himself up?
- What movies do you think Milo and Chloe saw together?
- Who is the next most likely character to die: Assad? Sandra Palmer's boyfriend?
- Now the fun part, we get to wait a whole week. At least prison break is on as well. This is even better than Monday Night Football.

I don't know if I can watch TV anymore. I am way too involved. I decided to watch all four of the opening episodes consecutively. So last night at 10pm I began the journey. It's now 10am and I haven't been to bed yet because I was over stimulated. HOLY CRAP JACK! You took the jugular out with your teeth. That has to be the most gruesome thing I've seen on tv and I couldn't have been more excited. I'm trying to imagine how it would feel to have that happen...must stop that imagination.
I think all of us are in awe of the stupidity of the White House in not listening to Jack. I was enfuriated. I still am. Which makes me nervous because I view the White House on 24 as if they actually represented reality. And right now I'm ready for anarchy.
I think the writers have done an excellent job touching on emotions. It's a whole new side with Jack and I love it. He has changed. I had a hard time controlling the tears after the Curtis Killing---with Jack's very moving puke scene. It's about time Jack lets the pain out.
Will Audrey come back? I've seen her in several other shows this year and wonder if she has the time to appear in the show that jump started her career.
My last comment is a complaint...it has to do with the miraculous (and impossible) health recoveries. Jack recieved a stab wound to the brachial plexus, which would pretty much involve the nerves, muscles and blood supply to his left arm. Yet, an hour later he is hoisting himself over walls. This type of stuff has always bothered me about 24. Two years ago, maybe three, Tony got shot in the neck and two hours later he was running around with nothing more than a band aid on his neck. Of course I would never not watch it because of this, I just wish it were more realistic, like the reality of five nuclear suitcase bombs going off. Now that I can believe!
the one thing I have always said about 24 is that it moves so fast that while you notice the holes(the health recoveries) they aren't a detriment. Sure they are there but you are too worried about the next thing that's going to happen to get too worked up about it. Nice comments. Keep em coming.
