When you go with the Cannegieters you go in style. I went with my uncles Bill x 2 (Lawler and Cannegieter) to conference. We met at West High and then Bill C drove us to the church office building. His connections got us a nice parking spot. However, the cool factor was that we got to ride on the golf carts from the parking in the church office building to the conference center. The carts are reserved for the the General Authorities and their families. It was pretty sweet to ride in style all the way to behind where the GA's sit. Our seats were nine rows back in the middle. You can't get much better.
As we were riding the in cart, we saw Agbor, we waved and called out his name. Right in front of him was Dallin H. Oaks, on the 12 apostles. Elder Oaks thought we were waving at him, cause that's what he is used to, but really we were waving at the guy behind him. It made for a rather humorous moment.
As I predicted Henry B. Eyring replaced James E. Faust as the 2nd counselor in the first presidency. Quentin L. Cook became the newest member of the 12.
This session of conference was in my opinion the best of the day. The talks were all great, and of course it didn't hurt that the last hour is always the first presidency.
We got the same treatment after the meeting. I mean who can pass up the carts-how often does this ever happen? We ate at TGIF with the Zito clan. In all it was a great night, nice to be with family and hear the words of the apostles.
