Sunday Bloody Sunday

U2 is my all time fav group and Sunday Bloody Sunday is their best song. Some of you may prefer a different song. But it is their best overall song. Today in class we discussed the Irish religious fight and since our textbook did little justice to the topic I decided to play the song. As we listened, I had the lyrics on screen, I marveled at the band's mastery to make their point. The title is one of the best titled songs ever, in fact it may be the best ever, I'll have to think on that. The message is poignant and stirring. The drums sound like gun shots. The chorus calling Ireland to be as one tonight is masterful. Bono and the boys can really make a point when they want to, and none more than this. Was nice to blast the song in class and discuss it and realize the power music can have, especially good music with a message.
